The only thing you actually need to practise meditation is a human body (we're working on systems for developed animals, in case you are one and have worked out how to use a computer). That being said, in order to effectively make progress, you need a base, an ethical framework that can help you to keep an even keel as you progress. We call this base Yama and Niyama.
